-HIFU is a highly precise medical procedure that applies high intensity focused ultrasound energy to locally heat tissue through ablation.

-HIFU is a hyperthermia therapy, a class of clinical therapies that use temperature to treat diseases. HIFU is also one modality of therapeutic ultrasound, involving non-invasive methods to direct acoustic energy into the body.

-HIFU has the same principle as a convex lens. Focusing the light into a single dot through a convex lens creates heat energy. Likewise, focusing the ultrasound waves into small point can raise the temperature high enough to create thermal coagulation point.

-Tissue at the focal point is heated to ~65°C.

-The Microson technology induces wrinkle improvement by promotion of superficial dermal neocollagenesis through production of TCPs in collagen rich dermis layer at 1.5 mm depth.

-Deep dermis at 3.0 mm depth from skin surface is connected to SMAS layers by fibrous septa. The Microson technology is able to promote collagen regeneration and facial lifting by producing TCPs in deep dermis.

-The SMAS layer is an area of musculature of the face that exists in 4.5mm depth from the skin surface. The SMAS layer is composed of collagen and elastic fibers and plays role of delivering muscle contraction to the skin surface. The Microson technology enables nonsurgical facial lifting by producing TCPs in SMAS layers.
